When life gets rough we get scared,
We hide under the table in fear of the dark,
The loud noises are so discouraging,
The harsh words spoken and the physical actions taken make us want to lie down,
No matter how many times we get beat and stand up it happens all over again,
We accept the corner of which we lay down in but I'm here to tell you to stand up,
Stand up for what you believe in,
Stand up in knowing that no matter what they say it means nothing because they'll never know you,
Stand up and know those who say and do such things don't deserve to know the goodness that is you,
Know that every molecule in your body was especially made for you to live and thrive,
That when they try to beat you take ah old of the end of that bat or stuff the barell of that gun and tell them they cannot control you,
Know that you are your own person and no one can tell you otherwise,
People cannot tell you what makes you happy because they are not you,
If they cannot accept that then they really don't care and maybe it's time you find a friend of a lover who does.
